Next Author Evening
Mark this date on your calendar! The next Author Evening will be held Monday April 30, 7:00 p.m. at the Lincoln Centre Centre in Beamsville. We are pleased to announce the two authors who will be speaking that evening:
Murray Brewster is a Niagara Region native and the author of 'The Savage War: the Untold Battles of Afghanistan. The author, a Canadian Press correspondent, includes first-hand commentary from Canadian troops who participated in the conflict, as well as stories from the Afghan people on whose land the war took place in an effort to give Canadians a fuller view of the war and its aftermath.
Dorothy Turcotte is a native of Hamilton, Ontario. She attended McMaster University, graduating with a degree in English. After working for 5 years at the radio station CKOC as a copywriter, she began to raise a family and started a successful career as a freelance writer. For many years, she wrote articles on infant and child care, then later on articles on travel, history, and other topics. She wrote a weekly column in the St. Catharines Standard for 15 years, and for 22 years has had a weekly column, Over the Coffee Cups, in The Grimsby Independent. Her column, A Small Drop of Ink, now appears in The Grimsby Lincoln News.
Tickets will be available shortly at both locations of the Lincoln Public Library. For more information, contact Jill Nicholson at 905-563-7014.
